Owld Crabbit Bastarts
We are a multi-national, Scottish-founded Gaming group.
OUR HISTORY
In early 2007, our founders Goo and Moph attempted to revive their previous group, a top-10 Clanbase CoD:UO CTF team, which was facing a decline in membership. They formed their own group of gamers with the aim of expanding into other games.
Initially, OCB didn't experience much activity or growth and primarily focused on CoD:UO, BF2, and BF2142 within a small circle of close friends. However, in the same year, ET:QW was released. Goo, Moph, and a few others from the original team quickly shifted their focus to Splash Damage’s recent title, attracting new members and gaining popularity.
By 2008, our numbers had tripled, and OCB rapidly established itself as a well-noted and respected group in the ET:QW community.
During this period, we hosted numerous competitions and 'World Cups' in ET:QW. We also received recognition and special thanks from Splash Damage for our assistance with the v1.5 Patch for Enemy Territory.

"This was something extraordinary, the OCB - SGS alliance was an unimaginable success!"

Then towards late 2009 we suffered a major loss in numbers...
In hindsight, this was due to a shortage of engaging FPS games, along with various technical and financial challenges related to our website and game servers. After being away for a year and a half, Goo and Moph felt unable to continue leading the clan and handed over leadership to Ads, with the understanding that we would transition into a casual gameplay clan, welcoming new members and placing importance on fair play and community spirit.
In 2010, Ads, alongside OliveOil and Moomin, successfully re-engaged several inactive members of OCB, navigating the group through a challenging period of inactivity. We initiated conversations with Aleborg, the leader of the sGs Gaming Clan, and eventually formed a partnership with them. This collaboration significantly increased our numbers and provided our members with the opportunity to participate in competitive-themed gameplay alongside a dedicated group of gamers. Additionally, it allowed more casual gamers in sGs to enjoy relaxing matches, taking a break from competitive events.
In 2011 we saw great success with sGs following the release of Brink.
Ads secured sponsorship from BT Infinity, which allowed a team of OCB and sGs members to compete in the 2011 GamesCom events in Cologne, Germany. Although our team narrowly lost to Epsilon eSports, we managed to claim second place in the tournament. Additionally, during that year, we began hosting various game servers, ranging from Battlefield to Left4Dead, which mirrored our earlier successes in hosting servers for ET:QW.
"This was the proudest day I ever had surrounded by my friends watching them perform on stage" - Ads
2012 proved to be very beneficial for us.
That year, OCB launched a DayZ Mod server, which boosted clan activity and attracted new, younger members. In addition to the DayZ server, OCB introduced two new Survival PvP servers for different versions of DayZ. The clan also expanded into Planetside 2, creating outfits on various servers with hundreds of members. In 2013, some senior members became Closed Beta testers for Splash Damage's game, Extraction, which is now known as Dirty Bomb.
Throughout 2014 we focused on our existing game servers, our outfits in Planetside 2, and began playing Titanfall on Origin.
In 2015 we experienced our biggest successes to date!
With the release of Dirty Bomb into Open Beta, we added over a hundred new members to our clan and managed to engage with Splash Damage on a more personal level. We also engaged with the growing competitive scene, joining DBNation’s Open Cups, as well as assisting them on a few occasions with their amazing projects. In the summer of 2016, we launched our first World Cup event since 2009, hosting teams from all over the world to play in Dirty Bomb, with prizes from both Splash Damage and our community members.
We repeated that challenge in 2017 running a new and improved World Cup. Slovenia was hands down the best country giving our Community some cracking entertainment to watch their Skills. Wolf and Mordrag were proud winners of the cup.
New members prop the clan these days, bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to our community - while many of our old guard members continue to contribute. We pride ourselves on our ability to adapt and evolve, both as a community and in the games we play. Our gaming interests have expanded to include popular titles such as Pubg, Heroes of the Storm, Ark, Rainbow Six Siege, and HellDivers2, among others. This diverse selection of games reflects our clan's openness to new experiences and our members' varied gaming preferences. We are excited to see our community grow and evolve alongside the ever-changing gaming landscape!
